It used to be...
I got up in the morning and went to look. To see what was showing in the mirror. Hmm, it seemed better before, I thought... The image was better.
I walked out the door, the one that leads to the store, and it's raining outside. And it hadn't rained yesterday. It definitely used to be better.
There are animals sitting on the wires, birds by the look of them, sitting haphazardly and soullessly. Is that your position—I ask them? One of them managed to shit on my shoulder. It used to mean money, now it means dry cleaning. It used to be better.
The store immediately smelled of capitalism. The security guard explained, "Our fish fridge is broken, we're airing it out." Yeah... capitalism used to rot somewhere in the West, and now it's right here, right here.
I picked up some bread, but first I spent a long time reading the labels—to see if capitalism had stuffed them with anything soulless. And the cashier brazenly asks, "Will you take a bag?" I'm not the type to use bourgeois plastic; I'd rather wrap it in newspaper. But the newspaper got soaked in the rain, and the buns fell apart. Newspapers used to be stronger.

If you don't engage in politics, politics will engage you. Got it... And if you don't engage in drinking, will it also engage you? No, I won't let myself be led. I went to the spirituality section and bought a half-liter. I'm sitting in the kitchen, gurgling, protesting against everything, participating, that is... Tomorrow there will be a hangover and a reason to say – yesterday, i.e., before, it was better.
