It's painful to look at the villages today, Everywhere desolation in the wilderness. It seems the ancient order has been forgotten, Not a soul is visible in the fields. Life's illness or the power of intoxication has overcome the peasants in the villages, All the cows have been mown down - Milk cannot be found even with fire. The open spaces have become empty, And the rumble of tractors is gone. The rickety fences have darkened Around the half-abandoned yards. I want to shout at the top of my lungs: Well, wake up, peasant, the fields await! If man so desires, The nurse earth will blossom. And she will feed and water abundantly, She will inspire with the song of the nightingale... Toil on earth is always worthwhile - To live in toil - The Creator commands us.

Eternal Wanderer, Good poem, the last line is unnecessary. As long as people believe in a Creator, they will remain someone's slaves, that's why religion is imposed.
Judging by its appearance, the church is still in use. The house and its outbuildings in the photo are clearly not abandoned. A stack of firewood is ready for use. The picture is certainly dramatic, especially in black and white. But the fish are apparently good. And despite its distance from the district center, people haven't abandoned this northern village. The photo is captivating.
@rk@dii 21, Nikolay, hi! These two photos were sent to me from the competition; they were among the 100 selected works for 2017. And here, one of my works was rejected as unsuitable, they called it, I think, a photo of a house. Incidentally, there were 103,000 participants, from 106 countries, with 257,000 photos. I'm writing to you because you had a similar experience and almost left the site. You remember what I wrote to you then: "Nikolai, don't care about them and keep making us happy with your work," which is exactly what you did. Sincerely, Arkady.

@rk@dii 21, Hi, Arkady!!! I am very grateful to you for your support - in this world, only it gives the opportunity to do what you love!!!
Everywhere desolation in the wilderness.
It seems the ancient order has been forgotten,
Not a soul is visible in the fields.
Life's illness or the power of intoxication
has overcome the peasants in the villages,
All the cows have been mown down -
Milk cannot be found even with fire.
The open spaces have become empty,
And the rumble of tractors is gone.
The rickety fences have darkened
Around the half-abandoned yards.
I want to shout at the top of my lungs:
Well, wake up, peasant, the fields await!
If man so desires,
The nurse earth will blossom.
And she will feed and water abundantly,
She will inspire with the song of the nightingale...
Toil on earth is always worthwhile -
To live in toil - The Creator commands us.
