A favorite spot for underwater divers. They say it's surreal, like flying through a forest among tree trunks. You can even Google the video.

Vasily Chishko, diving in this lake was banned as early as 2023. The tree trunks started rotting and falling into the water. It became dangerous to swim, however. The previously recorded underwater videos are very beautiful. 👍 Thank you, Vasily, for your attention to the photo.

The lake itself is turquoise. Kaindy's main feature is its flooded spruce forest, with bleached trunks, barkless and branchless, jutting above the water. Underwater, the same trees are almost completely preserved, branches and even needles intact, because the cold, mineralized water prevented them from rotting, effectively preserving them. Due to limestone deposits, the water shimmers with every shade of turquoise and blue-green.

Actually, the lake is turquoise. Kaindy's main feature is its flooded spruce forest, with bleached trunks, bark and branches missing, sticking out above the water. Because of the limestone deposits, the water shimmers with all shades of turquoise and blue-green.
Serogik Jarovoi, you've come up with a lot of great ideas... And that's a good thing, oddly enough. Over the decades, the needles naturally haven't survived—they're just algae that have settled on the branches of the sunken spruce trees. The lake's color depends on the time of day and, accordingly, the direction of the sun's rays. I didn't see any limestone deposits on the shores, and the water is ordinary mountain water from the river of the same name that feeds it. The spruce trunks aren't bleached, but gray-blue, saturated with water. There's a shot on my page that shows water, taken during off-peak hours: https://radikal.host/i/1jdx0D Thanks for stopping by.
