Svetlana Plashkova, I just love these old stones. In Golshany, when I pick up a finger-shaped brick and trace the fingerprints left by perhaps one of my ancestors 400 years ago, my heart starts beating a little differently. Thank you for your kind words. I look forward to your new work. Good luck :)) Sincerely, R.

Svetlana Plashkova, Budslav is home to one of the most revered Catholic icons in Belarus, perfectly preserved wooden sculptures, and a remarkable cathedral painting with false columns and a flat wall behind the altar, which the artist's talent transformed into a semicircle. According to the tour guide, the Germans painted the entire cathedral green during the war because it served as a landmark for our aircraft, and there was a German airfield nearby. And now, streaks of green paint are visible inside the church. Moreover, this cathedral is one of three minor basilicas in Belarus. The Pope, if he ever comes to visit, can only stay overnight in one of them. I saw the Lyntup cross. It is located in front of the entrance to the local cemetery. But I wrote about the Borisov stone, a relative of the one in Polotsk, next to St. Sophia Cathedral. It bears a well-preserved cross and an illegible inscription. The stone itself is shaped like a bell; it appears on the Globe.
I look forward to your wonderful work:)) Best regards

Svetlana Plashkova, Glubokoe is on my agenda for this summer. In three weeks, two whole months of vacation, backpack, sleeping bag, and off we go. I want to go to Lviv, and Kyiv, and Slonim, and Synkovichi, and Murovanka (I only saw it very early in the morning), and many, many other places. And if possible and have time, it would be good to go to Glubokoe via Budslav, on the road through Ilia. Firstly, in the village of Kameno (near Dolginovo) there is one of three (?) surviving Borisov stones in the Republic of Belarus with a clearly visible cross. Secondly, the Budslav church itself has two (!) miraculous icons, beautiful wooden sculptures from 1649, and a fascinating history.

Svetlana Plashkova, Well, the churches weren't completely destroyed. There were no roofs, bricks were sticking out of the walls, and everything inside the buildings was covered with the same bricks. And in June 2008, the church was completely restored, but closed (around 12 noon), and everything around the church was strewn with construction debris. The church was being finished being restored (by a team of Orthodox restorers), and they allowed me to look inside. The decor was very poor, even ascetic. The restorers advised me to talk to the priest, they described him as a very interesting and worthy person, but he turned out to be away. The mill is located along this road, a little further towards Nesvizh, on the left side of the road. Its walls are made of large stones, I liked it. There is a stream right behind it; I believe the wheel turned in it. As for the camera... of course I had one, and I took a lot of pictures, but there's one big BUT. I've just started taking photos, and I really enjoy it, but I'm pretty clueless. I use the green button to take pictures. I want people to see our beautiful castles (even if they're ruined and clumsily restored), our churches, and estates in such wonderful works as yours. I want them to want to find the time to go and see our heritage. I want them to remember that we're not a population, but a people. Thank you for your work, with respect.

Svetlana Plashkova,
I was saying that until 1939, representatives of three religions coexisted peacefully side by side, and three religious buildings stood nearby. A few years later, not a Jew or a Greek was left there. I first visited this place in the early 1980s, and the church and the Catholic church lay in ruins, and even the locals couldn't show me the synagogue. Last summer, I walked from Stolbtsy to Nesvizh and was delighted to see that two ancient churches had been restored. Incidentally, on the road to Nesvizh, about eight hundred meters away, are the ruins of a water mill and a very picturesque stream.

Svetlana Plashkova,
I was told that in this square, under the Polish rule, an Orthodox priest, a Catholic priest, and a rabbi (there was a synagogue nearby) would often meet and have peaceful, friendly conversations. Smart people can always reach an agreement, even if they all think differently; fools will never reach an agreement, even if they all think alike. Sincerely,

Victor Podbeltsev,
